From: Rance Espy To: Earl F. Glynn Subject: Re: Case #: 19990110193351 - Monitor Date: Tuesday, January 12, 1999 2:47 PM Dear Mr. Glynn, Subject: Color Publishing Numbers for Dell Monitors - Macro All Dell monitors, except one, have default color temperature as 9300 egrees Kelvin. (The exception is the Nokia 91862 which defaults to 7000 but you can select 9300 via the OSD controls). Color coordinates (chromaticity values for Red, Green, and Blue): All Dell monitors, except one, use P22 phosphor. The associated chromaticity values for P22 are; Red x=0.625, y=0.340 Green x=0.275, y=0.605 Blue x=0.150, y=0.065 The exception is the 21" Mitsubishi (p/n 65532) which uses EBU phosphor. Gamma Gamma is dependent on a number of things such as emissions of the electron gun, color tracking [color fluctuation due to brightness level (where the user has his/her brightness/contrast set)], and transmissivity )contrast ratio due to the type of CRT faceplate coating). Depending on the age of the monitor, the setup at the factory for that particular unit, and the users preferred brightness/contrast settings each monitor will have it's own unique gamma values. If you are running Win95 it has its own color matching software. Use the Mnp22g15.icm file in the Windows\System\Color folder. You can get more information from Microsoft's web server. The information is in Technet article Q140902. Respectfully, Rance Espy ~DT<18503> Dell Online Services
