Can I check my understanding of your reply. 1) A bitmap will be converted to a 24 bit JPeg irrespective of the PixelFormat assigned to the JPegImage object. 2) An 8 bit JPeg will be created when the GrayScale property is set to true. (This figures as the only 8 bit JPegs I could find were BW.) 3) Assigning a PixelFormat of jf8Bit only has relevance when converting a JPeg to an 8 bit bitmap.
